Roles

Software Developer / Stroma Certification / August 2015 to present

Working on Formation – an EDC suite for Windows, Android and iOS – I had the opportunity to take many roles from the early stages of the product lifecycle through to tendering the first major client. These included architecture planning; business analysis; UI wire-framing; UI development; back end development; database design; web service development.

Due to my business analysis role I also had a good overview of the iOS and android teams – working with them to ensure consistency across platforms. This was been a great learning experience: being thrown in at the deep end allowed my skills to grow from apprentice/junior level to match those of my senior colleagues in a short period.

During the maturation of Stroma’s software development department I had the chance to push our project management processes forward (such as establishing for the first time a clear planning window where stories can be created and fleshed out prior to being assigned to a developer) and also progress our development practices (e.g. re-factoring code and introducing unit tests).

Stroma Certification, May 2013 to August 2015

I have a management role which includes providing consultancy to senior management of major corporations regarding implementation of strategies to improve performance.

I achieve this through a combination of communication with senior managers (hosting teleconferences and face to face meetings) and support of the supply chain (process creation, technical advice and guidance).

Current projects include analysis of large samples of data, culminating in regular high level reports produced to a monthly schedule. Having successfully tendered the contract and developed the process, I produced an application to automate the data analysis process and trained my team to write the report. I am also responsible for the creation and management of auditing processes and created audit software and the corresponding database tables for this.

Past projects have included involvement in software development projects and change management of a CRM software transition for an international plc. I have also produced support documentation for calculation methodologies and software.

 Co-operative Stores, October 2006 – October 2007

While working as a shop assistant I managed a number of tasks including maintaining a high standard of presentation and upkeep within the store, stock management, customer service and training new recruits.

Altinkum Property Investments (API), Turkey, September 2003 – September 2006

  • I created and launched the company website and trained staff how to maintain it. Due to the success of the website I also did freelance web development for other local businesses.
  • Handled clients starting with initial enquiries, through to inspection visits, progress updates of new builds and after care. I helped build the company’s excellent reputation for professional service.
  • I visited sites to report progress and communicate design changes to subcontractors. Due to vigilance here, after-sales snagging was eliminated in most cases.
  • My responsibilities also included property and rental management. Introducing mail merging of databases for monthly reports meant that clients could have an unprecedented level of detail on their investments while reducing company time spent on routine communications.
